Our Hearts, Our Patiala
Patiala Foundation is a Patiala-based non-profit organization with Special Consultative Status at the United Nations Economic and Social Council since 2018. The Foundation is committed to creating sustainable social impact through community-driven initiatives focused on road safety, education, environmental sustainability, heritage conservation, livelihood generation, public health awareness, and social development.
Driven by the vision of fostering responsible citizenship and community participation, Patiala Foundation designs and implements innovative programs that address pressing social and environmental challenges while contributing to the achievement of the United Nations (SDGs). Through flagship initiatives such as Project SADAK (road safety and responsible mobility), Project PRITHVI (environmental conservation and sustainability), Project CHIDIYA GHAR (wildlife and biodiversity awareness), Project iHERITAGE (heritage preservation and cultural awareness), the Patiala Foundation Children Challan Book (road safety education for children), and GreenCABS (sustainable mobility solutions), the Foundation promotes awareness, behavioural change, and community
Over the years, Patiala Foundation has successfully collaborated with government departments, educational institutions, corporate organizations, civil society groups, and volunteers to organize awareness campaigns, workshops, training programmes, plantation drives, cleanliness initiatives, road safety outreach activities, and community welfare projects. The Foundation actively advocates for preventive safety practices, environmental responsibility, youth leadership, and civic participation as essential pillars of sustainable development.
With a strong network of members, partners, and volunteers, Patiala Foundation continues to work towards building safer roads, cleaner environments, empowered communities, and a more inclusive society. By combining grassroots action with strategic partnerships, the Foundation seeks to create long-term positive change and inspire individuals to become active contributors to the well-being and progress of their communities.
Together, we are building a safer, greener, and more responsible future for generations to come engagement across diverse sectors.
Making a Difference
Driving Road Safety
By facilitating First Responder Training, the CHIPKAR Reflective Sticker project, and our Helmet Bank, we equipped 5,000 citizens with life-saving skills, applied over 50,000 reflectors, and distributed 500 helmets to at-risk commuters. These targeted efforts have bolstered local road security and improved crisis management across the region for a safer shared future.
Fairness and Support Services
Through our Right to Walk initiative, we advocate for pedestrian-first urban planning by promoting safe footpaths, accessible crossings, traffic calming measures, and inclusive public spaces. By conducting walkability audits, raising awareness, and engaging communities and policymakers, we strive to make every street safer, more accessible, and welcoming for pedestrians of all ages and abilities.
Eco-Justice and Environmental Advocacy
Project PRITHVI promotes sustainable waste management by turning dry leaves into useful compost instead of letting them be burned or dumped in landfills. Through the use and adoption of Dry Leaf Composters (DLCs), the project supports small, local composting, cuts air pollution, reduces organic waste, and strengthens a circular economy. It helps institutions, communities, and local bodies follow eco-friendly waste practices that lead to cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable cities.
United by a shared commitment to service and community welfare, our team believes that meaningful change happens when generations come together to learn, lead, and make a difference.
Honoring Cultural Legacy
Project iHERITAGE celebrates and preserves the rich cultural, historical, architectural, and living heritage of Punjab and India through heritage walks, documentation, awareness campaigns, community engagement, and cultural initiatives—fostering pride, promoting conservation, and inspiring appreciation for our shared heritage across the nation.
Protecting Urban Birdlife & Promoting Biodiversity
Project CHIDIYA GHAR works to build cities where people and birds live side by side in harmony. We install and care for bird nests, improve urban green spaces, protect biodiversity, and involve local communities through awareness drives, simple learning sessions, and volunteer activities. Together, these efforts respond to the serious problems urban birds face because of shrinking habitats and fast, unplanned urban growth.
Together, these initiatives show how Patiala Foundation turns simple, everyday actions into long-term change—making our city safer, cleaner, greener, and more caring for every citizen and every living being.
